BADRUTT’S PALACE HOTEL: THE PERFECT BACKDROP FOR TOP EVENTS IN WINTER 2011/12

The 9th WinterRAID is fast approaching with a new concept and new route. On 11th January 2012 the famous classic car rally begins in St. Moritz with three challenging tests, finally crossing the Alps in the direction of Kitzbühel. The competitors of Europe’s toughest winter rally return to St. Moritz on 14th January 2012, where the tour concludes with a fitting finale.

Equestrian lovers can get their money’s worth twice: from 26th to 29th January 2012 the ice trembles under the feet of the powerful polo ponies at the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow, the world’s most famous polo tournament on snow; while at the traditional and classic White Turf on 5th, 12th and 19th February 2012, elegant racehorses speed across the snow-covered surface. Badrutt’s Palace Hotel will be serving refreshments again for guests in the Bedouin Tent.

Between 16th and 18th February 2012, guests are then witness to the most unusual game of cricket in the world: at the 25th Cricket on Ice they can marvel at the spectacular players with their bowling at lightning speed and their acrobatic catches. Then finally on 17th February 2012 the lake is transformed into a magical stage for Art on Ice. At night guests experience a dazzling show for all the senses – from the gala dinner to the glamorous performances with ice skating and live music.

INTERNATIONAL STAR CHEFS AND CREATIVE CULINARY HIGHLIGHTS

Badrutt’s Palace Hotel surprises gourmet guests again this season with its exclusive highlights – from visiting guest chefs to the world famous Gourmet Festival.

Based on the theme „Le Rêve du Palace“, the shimmering luxury hotel will be transformed into a magnificently bejewelled rococo palace on New Year’s Eve, 31st December 2011, Artists in impressive costumes characterise the scenery and several live bands provide the ambience. Guests can choose between a four or five course menu in the hotel itself, or in the rustically charming Chesa Veglia, an ancient farmhouse dating back to 1658 which has three additional restaurants.

An additional culinary highlight of the season is the 19th St. Moritz Gourmet Festival from 30th January to 3rd February 2012, where ten international top chefs work their magic in the glittering winter sport resort. Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s guest chef has three Michelin stars and the Bocuse d’Or medal: French chef Régis Marcon, owner of the restaurant Régis et Jaques Marcon.

The hotel has additional and original extras in store throughout the whole of the winter season: Indian chef, Mohammed Faisal Khan, presents dishes from his homeland in the modern „Le Bistro”.

Another must for gourmets is the daily High Tea and the Chocolate Cult: lovers of sweet delicacies are invited to sample to their heart’s content the ten metre long buffet laden with various chocolate creations, all made in the hotel’s own patisserie. This takes place on 26th December 2011, 1st January 2012 and also 19th February 2012.

BENEFICIAL SPA DELIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE ENGADIN ALPS

St. Moritz is a magnet for discerning visitors seeking recuperation – and precisely when the snow is glistening on the three thousand metre high peaks and Lake St. Moritz is covered with a thick layer of ice, that is the perfect time for a delightful wellness mini break. In the “Palace Wellness” the iconic hotel boasts a broad palette of treatments under the motto „Lifting your spirits” and the 22-strong team provides perfect service and professional care.

A new addition to the offer this winter is the „Ayurvedic Yoga Massage”. This treatment begins with a relaxing massage to loosen the muscles before working on posture by stretching the body in various yoga positions. By applying the ayurvedic detox formula, toxins are released which gather in the muscles and joints from poor nutrition. The „Ayurvedic Facial” cleanses the facial skin with a special mix of herbs, releasing impurities and dead skin cells.

The „Alpine Spa Retreat” package comprises 3 overnight stays in a Superior room with an extensive breakfast buffet and two evening meals in the elegant „Le Restaurant” or the modern „Le Bistro”. A highlight is the use of the Spa Suite „Veronica” with its all-inclusive treatment menu. Guests can literally experience the power of the surrounding mountains first hand with an „Engadin Stone Massage”. The body is treated with hand-graded stones from the surrounding rivers and streams.

Book your treatment in advance at «Palace Wellness» or benefit from our packages. Please contact our reservation team for further details by e-mail reservations@badruttspalace.com or by phone +41 (0)81 837 1100.
